Unstained

Post by Tano »

Hi All,

I finished this pipe two days ago. Took it to work to show the boys and sold it for $200. CDN. Not sure if this is a fair price, but he had bought several in the past.
I told the fellaw that he could have it after I posted some pictures on the forum, so here they are.
Any comments?

Briar: Mimmo large ebuchon cut in half to make two pipes this is the first.
Stain: None, just carnuba wax.
Stem: Black ebonite from PME.
Smoke chamer: 3/4" drilled before shaping.
Length: 5 1/2"
Bowl hight: 1 3/4"

Nice looking piece of wood. I like the pipe, but I am a little put off (personally) by the mismatch between the curvature on the front and back of the bowl. The front side of the bowl is much more round, and I think this makes the back look flattened.
