I was wondering if anyone has any experiance with this wood. It grows here in the Yucatan where I live. I happened across a guy the other day who said that he had made some pipes out of it in the past, I may just have to try it and see.
I haven't found it on toxicity reports either. So if anyone has any info on Sapote (Zapote is how they spell it here) I would appreiciate the heads up.
Very interesting. according to that the heart of some of the old sapote trees are dark, that must be what I have. One corner of the block was lighter but mostly its kinda dark. I'll play with it and post pitures in a week or two.
