looking for a machinist to make...

Post by Butch_Y »

I'm wondering if someone would be able to make me a couple bushings? My idea is to have a hardened dowel shaped like a tenon on one end and mortised on the other. This will help me to shape stem/shank with litlle or no loss to the perfect round. (cheating?)

for straight stemmed bushings:
dowel width and length: .600" x 2.00"
tenon width and length: .375" x .500"
mortise width and depth: .375" x 1.00"

Please send me a private message or respond here. No emails please as I will probably lose it amidst the 1000 spams I receive daily.

Thanks

You'll want to check out pin gauges. They're exactly what you're looking for. A whole set will probably cost less than getting a qualified mechanic to make 3 of them.

you would need to make a drawing of what you are looking for ie: are you trying to make aguage or a tool for cutting and boring.

e-mail me if you need to mikep@mgicanada.com
