Carnuba Wax Powder

Post by seamonster »

howdy!
I'm looking for carnuba wax in powder form, not flake, hoping to be able to get better coverage on blasts.

All I'm able to find is massive massive quantities (50kg minimum, 100kg min).

Does anybody have a source for this? Am I barking up the wrong tree thinking a powder carnuba will wax a blast better?
Thanks,
Jeremy

I purchase this from Vermont Freehand.
Probably 200 gr. per package.

Easier and far less messy:

Heavily overload a hard-stitched wheel with a block of carnauba, then "mash buff" the stummel into it. All over. Everywhere. Hard pressure.

The nooks, crannies, and crevices will all get max-filled with friction-heated wax. (If a dark blast it'll look almost white.)

Then heat one area of the stummel long enough to make it shiny / look wet in the same hot air stream you use for stem bending, and IMMEDIATELY buff with a DRY(ish) loose cotton wheel while it's still hot. (Switch fast)

Repeat as necessary one "zone" at a time until the white is entirely gone and only gorgeous perfection remains. :D

Simpler to use a microcrystaline wax.

That's a bit like saying the secret to winning auto races is to build the fastest car.

Which of the 3,855 forms and 196 application methods are you referring to?

Renaissance wax or a similar restoration grade wax, easily found online. Apply with brush, let it sit until it start to feel tacky and then buff with a clean natural bristle brush. Fast, cheap, easy, you can do it while watching TV, Very easy for customers to reapply if needed though normally a quick buff with a cloth or brush restores the shine anyway.

I do what latakialover says but instead of buff with dry wheel, i have a horsehair shoe shine brush mounted on a mandrel and hit it with that. works great
