Real Name: Christopher Ritchey
Age:23
Location:Muskegon, MI
Years a pipe smoker: Just started
How I got into it: My friend and i decided to make a tobacco pipe as a woodworking project. We ended up loving it and we both decided to pursue it. We're now starting on our own pieces. I want to learn and improve, and hopefully one day make beautiful pipes.

Howdy
This site was once a social gathering place as well as a technical one, then came social media... today it is primarily a resource for searchable threads going back 16 years, and a place to have your work critiqued by other carvers (as in, NOT "Hey! That's great!", but more like, "The departure angle of the shank is too high by a degree or so, and the rim bevel should be a millimeter deeper.")
Enjoy the ride.

Actually, "The departure angle of the shank is too high by a degree or so, and the rim bevel should be a millimeter deeper." needs to go on our next forum t-shirt...

Welcome, Chris. I'm fairly new as well; a few months in.
I look forward to seeing some pipes that you make!
