Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Wasp

Post by Massis »

One of my clients loves coming back to me with shapes out of my comfort zone, which he thinks I'll do nicely, and then requests one in his standard scheme: a black sandblast with an ivory stem, optionally a dark accent.

This time, he came to me with pictures of a pipe by Rolando Negoita (he usually comes up with pipes like these that actually cost at least three times as much as mine  ):

Now I've never done a wasp, and I'll never make a 100% copy of someone else's pipe. But I do like making one heavily inspired by others, in shapes I've not done before. So I did. And now you get to tear it apart.

If anyone's interested, you're also welcome to watch the making of video, as I try to bring pipemaking to the masses by running a barely watched youtube channel
