Years a pipe smoker: started Jan 2012 at 18, haven't smoked a pipe in probably 3 years, wanting to get back into it.

How you got into pipe making: I have been wanting to make a new stem for a churchwarden, since I broke the original, and pipe making seems like a good way to add to my collection.

Other interesting facts: I have been woodworking as a hobby since I was 8 or 9, and metal working a couple years later. A couple of pipes I want to make are Gimli's and Aragorn's pipes from the lord of the rings, a horn, and a 1/4 bent rhodesian. I have access to a full woodworking shop. I joined mostly because I have a few questions on techniques on pipe making.
Also, I go by Clay usually, but you can also call me Dragon.

Welcome from another new member. It seems like The Lord of the Rings has generated a lot of interest in pipes and pipe smoking.

Tons of good info here from guys who are experts and professional pipe makers.
