Buyers Remorse?
I got a very nice Stanwell. However I think I may have an issue I'm not quite experienced enough to address. The bowl has some burnout in one spot. I thought maybe some mud to fix it, but its on the side and maybe deeper than mud could fix. The question is do i just go for it an bore out the burn and set in a button of briar to fix it? Ive never done that before. If i do, I've seen peolle use glue, but that doesnt seem right to me.
Can just a tight fit and some mud do the trick?
Or do i just mud the interior and hope that it wont burn the rest of the way through?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok then, no guts no glory. Suggestions for holding the plug in place? Its tricky, since it involves the bowl inside and out, i dont want to use anything that will be toxic when heated.

That's the kicker, I am not sure of any glue I would be happy smoking lol.
Re: Buyers Remorse?
I would try to make it a pretty tight fit then just a dab of JB weld on the outer seam to hold it in place and bowl coating mix on the inside, it should hold.
Re: Buyers Remorse?
the easy solution here is very different: contact stanwell. Chances are they'll replace your pipe free of charge...

I'm the resident old fart noob Been hanging around since 2010 but have made less pipes than many pipemakers that started 5 years later. Life has too many options.
