FalconJim

Post by FalconJim »

Real name: Jim Fletcher
Age: 25
Location: Baddeck, Nova Scotia Canada
Years of pipe smoking: 6-7
How I got into pipe making: I guess it was years ago carving pipes for more nefarious plants as a teenager haha, then later got my hands on a real pipe and tobacco (amphora, captain black if that counts) and fell in love. Not really researching, I just stared carving pipes outa all kinds of different woods, not the greatest expirence to smoke but some fun. Up until resently I would just buy my pipes, but now it’s very attractive to be able to make them for myself. I’m particularly interested in morta, and i figured this is the place to be, I’m grateful this thing exists. Thanks everyone ! A little back round, I’ve been working at a marina for 9 years now, and about 4 years ago I got into doing a lots bright (varnish) work on boats ( yaughts). Last year I bought a 24 ft sail boat and I was thinking of lining the inside with some nice wood if I can find any. Any way thanks

Welcome from Baltimore.
Some of your boat building/maintainance skills should be transferable.
