Jet 920N with Nova 2

Post by Rshey »

Hey guys, I’ve been Reading the forum but cant find what Chuck you guys are using on the Jet 920.
I’ve got a wood lathe I use the Nova G3 on.The tpi is a different size on the Jet then the wood lathe,so I cant use the adapter. For my Jet 920 I Have a Nova 2 it’s a 1-1/2 x 8 tpi. I got the Nova2 this past week, and have been trying to figure this out without damaging the threads with the set screw.I’ve been to Rockler & Woodcraft, Neather have an adapter that big. At this point I’m thinking sell the Jet and just use wood the lathe. Any help would be great :banghead:

Can you not grab the ring with the 3 jaw on the jet?

Yeah, I can use the 3 jaw. I just wanted to use the nova that I bought with the tower jaws, but after a night of research on here and on the inter-webs,its looking like the 3 jaw is gonna be my answer. Caskwith,I thought about using It to make my own. I am not proficient on this yet and it intimidates the crap out of me. Been reading a lot on the machinist forums and watching Videos so maybe.

I'm saying, put the nova in the three jaw. Hold it by the adapter.

Sorry, been away for a little bit. I see what your sayin now.
I ended up selling the lathe. The only reason I bought the lathe
was for stems. After I bought it, I found some helpful threads
On here for stem cutting. For now I’ll use my wood lathe.
Maybe one day I’ll buy another. Thank you for the tip about the 3 jaw.
This fourm has so much information sometimes it’s overwhelming
I need to be patient and just keep reading.
