Thanks for the activation
I am a retired guy. My wife brought home about 30 pipes from an estate sale and suggested that I need something to do. I smoke a little but really appreciate some of the beautiful work that people, many on this forum I am sure, are producing, both in manufacturing and in restoring.
I have little skill and few tools, but I also have a desire to learn, to keep my mind and hands busy.
See you around...

Welcome.
Restoring and repairing pipes is fascinating and rewarding.
Making them is even more so.
My wife was pleased that I had something to do when I retired, but now complains when I don't come in from the workshop for 8-12 hours a day.

That ^^^^ is completely, totally, utterly, entirely, and absolutely true.Restoring and repairing pipes is fascinating and rewarding.
It a challenging activity for virile, manly, heroic men of substance. (Think John Wayne, Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood...)
That ^^^^ is completely, totally, utterly, entirely, and absolutely false.Making them is even more so.
It is a feeble activity for frail, emasculated, flaccid creatures who faint easily and often. (Think PeeWee Herman, Woody Allen, Gilbert Gottfried...)

One might infer from his response that George doesn't make pipes.

That is irrelevant.DocAitch wrote:One might infer from his response that George doesn't make pipes.
I was merely stating unequivocal, indisputable fact. Like saying "The sky is blue," "Airedale Terriers are the best dog breed," or "Scotch whiskey tastes better than Bourbon."

Without us, George wouldn't have anything to do at all.
