Brass Mallet and drivers

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

Brass Mallet and drivers

Post by terryR »

Here is a plane adjusting mallet and a set of screwdrivers I made last month for a tool swap. Driver shanks are O1 tool steel shaped and hardened in the shop. I turned the brass ferrules and the brass mallet head on the wood lathe. Handles are Bubinga, horn added to the mallet, buffed wax for a finish.

The drivers are sized for use on handplane handles and the chipbreaker, and the split nut driver is for the split nuts on a hand saw.

Nice work! You could surely find a market in the gunsmith trade. Quality screwdrivers are a must in that business.
