Not Steve, and it's all very hush hush right now. I'm assuming we'll hear pretty soon.

So, a block of PME briar is now going to sell for 8K a piece?

it's been almost 3 months since it was "sold" and still no unveiling of a buyer
it's on the hush hush for some unknown reason

Hmmm... I can think of an outfit in the US that makes large numbers of pipes and seems to be secretive about pretty much everything as a matter of policy.

i was thinking about the same company george. one that would have a use for briar, ebonite rods, stain, and all of that acrylic. One that would sell all of the tooling and publishing material to steve and consume the rest.

George's comment had me thinking about two different entities. On the one hand, if you're trying to flush pipe turds from the market, buying and consuming all the supplies yourself (effectively removing a supplier from the turdcrafter's repertoire) might not be a bad way to go.

On the other hand, regarding the extreme secrecy, maybe somebody should just call them and see who answers the phone. You know, TIAFO.

I left a message for them about 3 weeks ago. I got a call back about a week later. It was a younger woman (don't remember her name). I asked if they had found a buyer yet and she said now, they were still looking. Then I asked how Carolyn was and she said "She's doing great and stops by to say hi a few times a week". Then I thought, if they haven't sold why isn't Carolyn still there taking care of stuff??

Long and short of it is that they didn't have what I needed......but Steve did!!
Am I Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley??...depends on the day.
