Rusticating experiment

Bowl is made from apple-wood and stem is bought from tobaccoshop.

This is my first rustication, so all questions and comments are most welcome.

What did you use to rusticate it?

The curve where the shank and bowl meet looks fatter that it needs to be. I wonder what it would've looked like if you'd removed more wood at that shank/bowl joint?

And, LexKY_Pipe, I'm sorry, but you must keep on wondering. I wanted to make this pipe look a littlebit "fatty" than, thinny and slender. So thats why "The curve where the shank and bowl meet looks fatter that it needs to be".

I'm not gonna say that I don't like the rustication but I will say this: It looks way too much like the rustication found on really cheap pipes. I don't mean to say that it looks cheap, just that it will be linked with those pipes when people look at it, IMO. I should say that's what it makes me think when I see it. Does that make sense? Or am I being totally offensive?

That's exactly what I wanted, to make it look rough and kinda old. So I almost cannot get any better feedback, than bscofield gaved to me :thumb:
