Any ideas?
Hello guys, after only 1111111 attempts on making a straight grain billiard with grain orientation to the top, I'm close on achieving it.
Although natural finish is not a problem a possible DR-like finish will be great.
So any ideas on suggested under and over stain?

Re: Any ideas?
If the grain is clean enough, I would never think of putting any stain on it
So I'm not sure what stain to use if you want to come close to the Dunhill... Promote it to a Root Briar!
P.S.
That's a sweet pipe.

Now that is a cool pipe!
You might try a medium or light brown sanded back. That should be just enough to highlight the grain I'd think. I'd experiment on some scraps first.
