Horn Stem

Hello folks.
I have been given a horn stem to make a bowl for, and it has a fairly extreme bend to it, a 3/4 curve, and a diamond shank.
I was thinking of putting a delrin rod in it for a tenon. My concern is whether a push style stem is appropriate strength wise when it is a 3/4 curve. The only two 3/4 pipes I own are a threaded tenon and a military style.
thanks
Isaac
