Like the new look?

Post by Tyler »

I am trying to clean things up in the left hand margin, and add more content. As such, I have changed the main menu to drop-downs under categories, and I have added a bunch of information in the log-in box.

You like?

I like the cleanup, not sure that all the colors "match" the rest of the site...

The location of all the data is great I think.

I like.

My only suggestion is to not have the Private Messages icons animated unless there is a new/unread message awaiting. Motion attracts attention and it may be misleading if one doesn't have new messages.

Other than that, it looks good, and I like the additional info.

Scott,

The animated messages thingy is my main complaint as well. I don't like that at all. I may need to figure out the coding for that and hack the module.

Animated PM icons are now static.

Good suggestion.

random,

No security code? It still shows up for me, and should for you as well. Please tell me what you are doing to make that go away.

Thanks!

I noticed it right away - I missed the link to the gallery that was in the left margin. I found a link rather quickly in the middle of the page though.

It looks great to me, but I dearly love everything about this site anyway, so I'm biased. By the way, have I thanked you for all the obvious work that you've put into this place today? If not, thanks!

john - totally impressed

Actually, Tyler, I'm having some issues logging in from the homepage. It always rejects my initial log in and then takes me to the second page where it logs in fine. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm glad you like the site!

I found a bug in the Use Info block, so I've replaced it with different one. This one does not have the bug of the other, but if it has others is yet to be seen. This one has the cool feature of identifying the country of origin of your IP and placing your country's flag next to your ID while you are online. Kind of fun, no?

This block also matches the color scheme of the site a little better. I hope you guys like this change.

Jeff,

This should fix your problem. The security Code was messed up with the other login block. While not an issue with this block, I went ahead & turned the security code off for the entire site.

please let me know if you have any more trouble.

Tyler,
It works perfectly now. Plus, it's nice not to have to type in the code.
