PMs

Post by DocAitch »

Sirs, I have noted that the last 3 PMs that I Have sent are still in the out box.
Have they been sent, or is there a button or something that I should push to make them go?
With my email, if something winds up in the outbox, it has not been sent.
Thanks,
DocAitch

Unless your recipient notices the tiny counter in the upper left corner of every screen and clicks on it when greater than zero, your PM will remain unopened forever.

There used to be a "send me an email to notify I have a PM in my outbox" sign-up option, but it seems to have stopped working about six months ago.

I get a pop-up notice when I log into PMF telling me I have new messages. As George said, there used to be an email but not recently.

There's a bug in the system somewhere. I get no notifications of PMs unless I look for that little tiny box as George says.
Nor do I get any notifications of new posts in a thread I'm following tho I have checked the box.

The outbox did empty as the messages were read, so at least that part works. I noted that Oklahoma Red posted in the thread to notify his recipient of a PM.

The site also does a pop up when you have a message and log in on the site, if you tUrn that on in your control panel. Thanks to pop-up blockers those aren't seen much anymore though.

There isn't a universal setting to send an email for PM notifications. i honestly don't know if it ever/still sends and email about PM's.
