a few available

Got a pipe you want to offer for sale? Post it here. This is not meant to be an eBay replacement or a full-blown retail outlet and there are no limits for now, but please be kind to the host. Please note, this is not for showing off your pipes and getting critique - so only post pipes here that you think are ready for sale.

a few available

Post by bandkbrooks »

1st - don't laugh at my website or I'll tell your mom.

Here are a few that are available that I've reduced to $100.00 each just to get them in some hands (and be realistic). Or make me an offer. I need more testers for my stuff.

What stain are you using to give your pipes that antique/vintage look?

Are you talking about the smooth or rusticated part of the pipe?

Change of heart! I want to get these in hands for review. For forum guys, if interested, I will sell them basically at cost (i.e. enough to get more briar  . Around $50 or so. I need more briar for more practice!

The first pipe you have on top, the none rusticated part. what stain is that? And do you ever mix-and-match stains to come up with your own unique stain/look? :?:

I probably sanded to 220 or 320, stained it black or a very dark brown over the whole pipe. If you are using alcohol based dye, you can light the pipe on fire to burn off the excess alcohol and help it dry faster. Pipe flambe. Buff a good portion of the color off or sand at the next grit. Then I progressively went with higher grit paper and lighter color stains. You can use water based stains on top of the alcohol stains and they won't run together as bad. The best thing is to use some scrap for practice and come up with your own colors and combination. Search some of the forum too for more advice. There are several different methods but they are all generally along this same approach.

Hope this helps
