Made a skirt...

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

I like Chocolate milk also but that tat is too hard core. Nice skirt too but the material may be too thin or something. I can see through the weave in the part at the bottom left corner

Yeah, I have to pick up chocolate milk for the family breakfast tomorrow morning...needed a reminder. The material is pretty thin. It was cheap and this was a practice run so the girls will just use this as a dress up.

I have three daughters too, but I managed to avoid making clothes for them. My job was usually fixing toys in the shop. They were convinced that Daddy could fix anything at least as good as new. Very nice skirt though. You will need sunglasses when one of them is wearing it around.

Nice work, Martha! Are you posting this for critique or just showing us what you made?

Just kidding. My wife doesn't sew so I do all the sewing at my house. Mostly busted seams on clothes and stuffed animals and buttons. It's a very good skill to learn.

I figured that there are sharp objects and motors involved so it can't be too girlie. Besides, I sew all my own pipe socks, tobacco pouches, etc. so maybe it evens out the skirt making.

Nice work. Now sew a bearskin vest with shark tooth buttons to make up for it.

Just to tag onto that, in days gone by, some of the most accomplished people in the art of sewing were sailors. They made much of their own clothing, and maintained the sails of their ships.
