Pipe Stand

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

Pipe Stand

Post by jhhicks »

Hello All,

I'm brand new to the forums and thought I would share my pipe stand that I built last weekend. I worked in a millworking shop during my high school years and got to use some of that 10 year old knowledge for this project. I figured making a pipe stand would help quench the need for making a pipe (it didnt, I'll be making my first pipe sooner than later). I wasn't happy at all with the 3m wood filler and I won't be using it again. The wood is poplar and the stain is golden pecan. Anyway, here are some pics.

Nice job, clean and simple.
I would have put felt down where the stummel's rest but, hey I'm anal.
Any reason why you didn't add shallow pockets for the stummels to rest in?

Thanks!

I think I might put some felt down - that's another thing I will probably change when I make another one.

I didn't have a good way to make the recessed area for the the pipe to sit in, but with the cove molding on the front, I don't have to worry about them sliding off, so I'm not too worried about.
