The Tampers I made...

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

Where do you get your brass ends and nails... or do you make them yourself. I've looked for about a year for some brass ends that are usable in about 30 stores and haven't found anything suitable yet (for me)

Hi James,
I made them all by myself with brass rod.
if you have a lathe, you can make them as well.

You should consider making the brass things as kits for turners, much like the 6in1screwdriver turning kit. I would buy it! I'm sure other turners would foam at the mouth to have something new to add to their catalog.

Thanks man, that is a great idea, let me think about how to pull this off.

When I made these tampers, i spent half the time(about 1 to 2 hours) to make the brass bit (with the screws and everything).
And each one has a different angle at the joint(brass to wood). If you have metal lathe, it won't be a issue.
But if you only have a wood lathe, it is a bit hard to turn brass, and make a good connection.
It would be tricky to make a turning kit..

Great! My commission is 50%. Jk! Im really only referring to the straight ones. The angled stuff is one off for each app. I mean it, I would buy it! I'm full of ideas, PM me if you wanna work it out, I'd be glad to offer my 2 cents.
