Pipe Tool

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

Pipe Tool

Post by CedarSlayer »

I made a pipe tool this weekend, but I made it backwards really.

The gouger/scraper should have been on the main body, the tamper/smusher should have been on the 'cap' with the poker/stabber.

The gouger/scraper is not terribly sharp, but it is the wrong thing to be gripping to pull the cap off.

The mesquite pipe in the pictures is what I mean by making a pipe rustic. I call this bowl shape a stump.

Nice :)
I've been trying my hand at pipe tools for a few weeks now, not as simple as they look. I've been hand filing the tang from a broken hoe at work for about 3.5 hours collectively now to use as a scraper and hopefully JB weld a foot on for a tamp. Hoping to use an old nickel from 1951.
Nice looking pipe tool you have there, I like the idea of concealing the third tool that way. Nifty lil critter ya got there :)
