Ship Ahoy

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

Ship Ahoy

Post by Frank »

A couple of the model ships I've made. I've completed four, with one in progess on the workbench and four more still boxed awaiting their turn. The small one is an Ancient Egyptian Transport, the larger one is a Baltimore Clipper.

Wow, they look great, and it looks like a lot of time invested!

That clipper looks like it could haul anchor and sail away!

Very nice Frank. I allways wanted to do that or maybe model trains but somehow never got around to actually do it. Your's are really cool. Do you also do the ship in the bottle thing ?

I was going to mention the ship in the bottle thing... Do people who put together the full size ships like your's think that ships in bottles are kind of gimicky?

Now that you and Olivier mention it, I also have a couple of those waiting their turn to be constructed. I can't speak for other modelers, but it's a pretty clever gimmick getting it in the bottle and then raising the masts/sails.

Including a Da Vinci Flying Machine, I have about nine assorted modeling projects waiting in the wings, and that aside from the pipe and knife stuff. Do I have enough years left in me? We'll see.
