More of the same...

We all make stuff other than pipes, so here's a place where "anything goes" as far as showing off some of your projects and other hobbies.

More of the same...

Post by JMG »

Sorry, no pipes to post. Tampers are the only thing I have time and tools for here. So far these have only seen a pocket knife and sandpaper. I plan on inlaying some crushed rock and later polishing them once I return to the States.

Pretty slick. You have an excellent eye for line flow and proportion.

You should have entered this year's KC carving contest.

Nah, but I will probably stop by the show for a few minutes.

Here one is after inlaying some crushed rock. I ended up whittling the neck of the tamper smaller than I was comfortable with so I wrapped it in some string the Hewa people make out of a certain kind of tree bark here. It's not polished but it will give you the idea.

A Curious George question:

Is your PNG posting an open-ended "until you feel like doing something else" situation, or does it have a firm end date because of some government control/treaty agreement/etc.?

If the latter, where will you go next, do you think?

I'm here until the job is finished or the good Lord tells me to go somewhere else...though I have no idea where that would be. However, that being said, there has been a lot of heavy events lately and my family will be returning to the States for 6 months. Currently in Brisbane where we had to med evac my mom to.

I just went on a Google hunt to see what you might be referring to, and came across this:

https://www.osac.gov/pages/ContentRepor ... ?cid=20009

I knew things in general were on the rougher side there, at least in the city, but had no idea it was borderline out of control. Damn.

And all the best to your mom. "Medevac" is a word I've come to dislike exceedingly.
