GKCPC 8th Annual Carver's Contest

Post by scotties22 »

From the GKCPC Website: The contest pipe will be with "bamboo". That's it. Just create a pipe that uses bamboo and you have made the contest. Everything else is up to you. You can keep it simple as below or go crazy.

We are working on a new website so I don't have a link to give you for registration...yet. I should have that and the new registration page for the show itself some time in the next month.

If you have any questions regarding the contest please call, text, email, carrier pigeon me :D

Registration is now open! The only restriction this year is that the pipe must have bamboo on it somewhere (no bamboo dots and no briarboo)! Everything else we are leaving to you and your very active imaginations. Carvers Contest Registration at the link below.

https://shows.kcpipeclub.com/product/ca ... istration/

Please ask your customers to purchase tickets for the Carver's Raffle. Someone will win a beautiful 7 Day Set of Bamboo pipes! There are only 300 tickets available and they will go quickly. Tickets are 1 for $25 or 5 for $100. Tickets can be purchased from the link below.

As an addendum, know that I have a direct line to the contest's founder and director, and serve as his rep on the "classic" Interwebnet. (Meaning the www boards. I'm NOT on BookFace, Snipchit, Instagranny, etc, though. Scottie has that covered.)

What you hear from me about rules interpretations or the like as the contest approaches can be relied upon 100%, in other words. If unsure about something you hear elsewhere, please check with me before potentially taking a wrong path with your project.

So with a Judge and entrants being on this forum, would it be proper to post pipes in progress for advice and critique? Thanks, Norm.

Post anything you want. I simply won't (can't) comment on any pipes that utilize bamboo between now and the contest in September. There are plenty of other board members who will probably give feedback, though.

As you are working on your contest pipes please post pictures to your social media accounts. Please post 'in progress' and 'finished' pictures of your entries. And please ask your customers to purchase raffle tickets. The more we all work together the more successful the contest and raffle are.

Tickets can be purchased at https://kcpipeclub.com/kc-pipe-show/. Tickets are 1 for $25 or 5 for $100. All proceeds are split between the 7 winning carvers.

If you would be so kind as to use the following hashtags on your posts that would be great.

#carverscontest
#carversraffle
#gkcpc

A word from Quinton Wells, the contest founder/organizer/manager guy:

-------------------------

We are two weeks from the K C Pipe Show and it is time to get your entry for the 7 day set "Bamboo" in the mail (unless you are bringing it in person). Please let me know if you have questions. Good luck and thank you for your participation.

Just a few more days to get your pipes to KC! If you are shipping them they must be to Quinton no later than this Thursday! If you will be dropping your pipe off at the show it must be turned in at the Registration desk no later than 6:30pm on Friday evening.

Don't forget to post pictures of your contest entries. And please ask your followers to purchase raffle tickets!

Good luck and see you soon.

If you have not mailed your entry yet there is still time!!!!! Put it in the mail to me (address below) Priority Mail Express and it will get here by Friday. I will take it with me and turn it in on Friday with my pipe.

The winners are being announced Saturday evening at our banquet. Tune in to the GKCPC Facebook page for the winners around 7:30pm CST (or so). I'm sure the list of winners will show up multiple places, but that's where to find it first.

Good Luck everyone
