I realize it's a terrible pun, but oh well.

Anyway, hello to all, and I just wanted to announce my new website, http://www.vardrypipes.com.

For those of you with more experience, I'd love feedback. For those of you who want to buy a pipe, well... buy a pipe from me.

I won't critique the pipes, but since your website is your showcase (showroom), I'd suggest you re-photograph all the pipes and get them in sharp focus. None of the "for sale" pipes seem to be in focus.

Hi Patrick,

I agree with Frank. You really need sharply focused pics and more of them from a bunch of different angles.

Also, while you're doing some nice work, you might want to reconsider calling the pipes High Grade.

High Grade pipes need to meet certain nebulous criteria that you won't really know or understand until someone else who knows pipes calls them High Grades. At least that's the way it was for me. After three years of making pipes, a collector at a show told me I was making High Grades. :D

Please understand that I mean absolutely no offense by this. Like I said, you're doing some nice work, but I don't think they qualify as High Grades.

Keep up the good work!

I think the "nebulous criteria" Rad is refering to is... you can charge well over $300 per pipe and barely keep up with demand.

Welcome Patrick!

BTW, don't you worry about Rad. That collector that told him he was making high grades said it for the big discount that came with it.

But, I thought you were *supposed* to give a discount to people who suck up to you.

Rad, you are!

Have I ever told you that you are finally a high grade pipe maker?

Next time you make a HIGH GRADE like this let me know, and I'll get you the $75 check in the mail for it:

$75.00!!!

No no, really Tyler, there's no need for you to pay a premium.

You can just pay my regular price, since you're a former pipe maker and all.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate the comments and the criticisms. If I am to improve with time and experience, I want some of my improvements to be on the advice of more experienced carvers. Keep it coming, and I'll see you guys around here.

Patrick H.

p.s. I am working on the photos. I think it's actually a lens issue with my camera, because it used to take really good pictures. Most of the pics in my 'sold' section were taken with the same camera as those in the 'for sale' section.

Welcome PatrickH!

As a suggestion, it looks like you may just be taking the photos to close and the camera can't focus that close. Try backing up a little bit and I bet that fixes the issue.

Most of your sold pipe are sharp and are taken from a little further away.

btw Great work!
