Finished stummel needs to be 6 inches long, 4 inches tall. Ideally a 1-1/4 tobacco bowl or larger. I also want pretty wood so it can be left smooth and not rusticated.

That's a pretty big block of wood. Any idea where I can find it?

Thanks for the help.

That's pretty freakin' big!

You can try Tinsky, but I doubt he has anything that huge. Wherever you get it it will be very expensive.

Plus the odds of getting a single block that size that will result in a smooth pipe are very, very low.

Good Luck!

Holy stink, man. Give Tim West (JH Lowe) a call too. Sometimes he will have a large "Canadian" block in a stack.

If the pipe dimensions are close to the block size you are after, that thing could run a small steam plant once it was stoked up. :D

Thanks again for the helps guys. Mr. West hooked me up. Wont know if it'll stay smooth until I cut into it though. He's even going to do the tobacco chamber for me (I'm kind of only set up for 3/4).

I was going to suggest Tim. When I visited him at his home a few years ago, he showed me a few blocks of briar that were hilariously huge.

Good luck....may the sand pit be few and the flame grain be plentiful. :)

It says you're from California, but, I don't believe it. You're really in Texas, right? ;)

Pipe isn't for me, but if you saw my gun collect you might still think I'm from Texas.
