Oh, I didn't tell you? You fellas are footing the bill for all of mine.....just kidding. :P

I appreciate the sentiment but I'm more interested in everyone getting the best deal they can get to make it worthwhile. I'm already benefitting financially by getting rods direct like the rest of you.

Heard back from NYH and hashing out some details and confirming order. I expect to hear back from them today with an invoice and payment details. I will keep everyone updated as things progress. Once I get the invoice I'll contact everyone with a balance due from everyone. Hella at NYH said the Cumberland will be ready three weeks from the start of production once payment is made and the black ebonite will be ready in 6 to 8 weeks. I requested that it all be shipped together when the black ebonite is ready to minimize shipping cost.

Heard back from Hella at NYH. Our rods should be ready by the middle of September. They are not requiring advanced payment to start production. Instead, they are going to send me a bill including packing and shipping once the rods are complete. Stay tuned.......

I received correspondence from NYH that production of our rods is complete. For the sake of simplicity, I am fronting the money to NYH so everyone will only have to pay me back the amount they owe once I've figured it all up. I plan on wiring the money to them tomorrow. If everyone wants to PM me their shipping address that would be great.

Here's the breakdown of cost per rod with S&H from NYH to my house at today's exchange rate of 1.3817 USD/ 1 Euro:

Black Ebonite = $58.14 / rod
Cumberland = $63.06 / rod

There will be an additional cost for packaging and shipping from my home to yours. I plan on keeping packaging simple and cheap and shipping will be First Class USPS.

Please don't send money to me now. I will PM everyone with the balance due once I know the exact exchange rate and my shipping and handling cost. I just want everyone to have a ballpark on the cost so they can plan ahead.

More to come.....

Peace,
Wayne

Should we add what our order was in the PM, to keep Wayne from having to read through all of the posts and match everything up between the post and the pm ?

I just assumed you were as disorganized as I am. Glad to see someone responsible is in charge of this thing.

Payment was wired today. There will be additional fees added to the cost. I'll know better what those fees are once it clears the bank. Wiring money was a bit more involved than I had anticipated. I thought I'd just be able to wire it from an interest free credit card or Western Union (who doesn't do international or that high of a dollar amount apparently.) It didn't work out that way and turned out to be a bigger pain in the ass than I had expected. I ended up having to take out a cash advance to a checking account and wire from there. There will be fees for the cash advance that will be split up per rod. Unfortunately, wire transfer is the only method of payment NYH accepts. The exchange rate that we ended up with was $1.452/euro. We're still getting a good deal though and saving a significant amount of money compared to purchasing anywhere else in the US. More to come.....

Wow, sorry you had all that hassle to deal with, Wayne. Sounds like a huge pain! Yes, the price per rod is still going to be great. Hopefully it won't be at the expense of your sanity!

Thanks for all your work on this!

UPDATE:

Ran into some snafu's with the wire transfer to NYH but got it all cleared up and payment has been received by NYH. Our rods will be shipped UPS tomorrow. I will let everyone know when they arrive and I have shipping from me to you figured. From there I will PM everyone with a balance due.

Peace,
Wayne

Thanks for the update, Wayne. Sorry you've had so many hassles. I imagine it gives one a areal appreciation for why the price from PE is what it is. It gives me an appreciation just hearing about it

I really appreciate all you've put out for us by taking on this project!

Great timing, I just bought a lathe today. Now I can screw up the stummel AND the stem on my first pipe.
