A pipe for grandpa...

Post by RobEsArt »

Hi. My name is RobE and this is my second post on this forum.
The following pipe I created for my wife's grandfather. He was an old Dutchman and he only owned "drugstore" pipes. I wanted to share the hobby with him, as a means to form a connection. I thought it appropriate to make him a nice artisan pipe. So I went to work in my studio, creating the pipe, tamper and presentation box. I gave it to him for his birthday and it was well received.

The band, for dots on the rim, one dot on the stem, and the foot of the tamper are all sterling silver.

He passed away two years ago, and no one has seen this pipe since his last smoke.
Maybe the old codger figured out how to take it with him.
