Doug535 5th pipe

Post by Doug535 »

This one I did for smokindawg, got a set of jaws from him and he sent a FEW extra items along with them, This was also my first attempt at an acrylic stem. Maybe Steve will pop in on this one and give a review, as it's in his hands now.

Very nice.
That funnel has a great profile. Some sanding and polishing inside would make it more impressive.
My only criticism is that (and it is very rare that I would say this) is that your transition is too sharp. S smallish radius (from a chainsaw file), has a smoother, more “organic “ appearance, and that radius is certainly easier to finish.
Additionally, a poker (IMHO)looks better with a slightly concave line. Another thought is that there is a slight rounding at the edges of the bowl which might be mitigated by a harder sanding backer.
I am impressed by this effort.
