Since I am planning on using it in the crevice on the outside is there a way I can or should be coloring it? I remember when I worked with wood years ago we would save the sanding dust and mix it with wood glue and fill holes with it to help blend it in and hopefully it would catch some of the stain...

would a sharper profile make it easier to get the draft hole at the very bottom of the chamber? you know the direct center of the bottom? or is it acceptable for the draft hole to be centered but more on the stummel side of the chamber
