Good on you for knocking a few pipes out. My advice (advice I wish I would have started with myself) is pick a pipe you like in your own collection and try to recreate it, then compare them. Learn from what's different and move on from there.

Find a pipe you like and try to re-create it. When you're done see what's different about yours and when you make another one, work on those things.

Pipes are nice, but the stems seem "heavy" or too clunky to me. I think if they were slimmed down it would have better proportions.

I use flickr. It lets you pick a size when you go to copy the code for the pic.
