Grizzly.com has white inlays for frets on guitars. I believe they are 1/16" diameter.

The comfort zone I shoot for is .175/bit and .240-.250/button. However, some customers deviate from this +/- and, of course, the width of the stem is a determining factor, with skinny bits in the + range.

If I am buffing the smooth portion of a partly rusticated pipe the dust settles in the rustication. Lots of fun getting that out.

Use your heat gun on the dust that accumulates on rusticated pipes. The wax will melt and give the pipe a nice sheen.

You're not ever going to eradicate "dust" from buffing wheels. They are made of felt or muslin, both of which produce lent with or without wax. The reason it "collects" on the pipe is because the friction of buffing creates static electricity which attracts the lent to the pipe....

I use an A&M stamp and, as Rad mentioned, they are sharp. Just to make it a bit easier, I heat my stamp and this makes the impression easier and a bit deeper.

Rad gave me his secret about making pipes in two hours and I have used this advice and it works. Shape a pipe, soak in water for 5 minutes then squeeze it out in a vise and there you have it, a squashed tomato. Thanks Rad, you've been a pal and I have appreciated all the help. Now, if Todd could jus...

Trent Rudat

I have a number of items from Trent: chuck, french wheels, bits. Trent is very accommodating and will do whatever it will takes to make sure you are pleased. I really like the chuck due to the ease of use. I have both, a Lamb and Rudat chuck, but use the Rudat almost exclusively. BTW-Hey Rad! Great ...

The aesthetics of the rustication are great. The flaw was positioned where it gives the pipe great eye appeal.

I also have the Penn State Industries 1 micron collector and am very pleased. My son gave me the remote control for the collector and it's great. I recently moved the collector outside the shop and it has made it much more quiet in there!
