Due to personal health issues, we are forced to sell Pipe Makers Emporium. So, if anybody is interested in buying our business, please tell me of your interest. We...

Re: The current state of this forum

It isn't that long if you use the youtube feature to watch it in 2x speed. I have watched it several times, and most of those were at 2x speed. I learned a lot from watching, and It has upped my stem game tremendously. Thank you George!

Re: New pin gages!

Nice! I didn't know how valuable pin gauges were until I got my hands on some at the Briar Lab. Indispensable for touch-ups, and screw-ups.

Re: Facing small extension pieces without a large.

A few things you could try. If it is square stock you could cut it with a table saw or miter saw. The end would require some clean up though. If it's round you could do the same by making a vee block out of wood and feeding that through the saw. If you are trying to face it perpendicular to and exis...

Re: The current state of this forum

A lot of the information that is sought by new members IS available in the archives. I think I could have gained all the information needed to make pipes by reading the back log of posts using the search function. Possibly another reason in the decline is the fact that you don't need to be a member ...

Re: Natural Prince

All good suggestions. What I see on the rim is a rounding over from the side of the bowl to the rim. Thats the issue. Rounding the rim usually makes a nice finishing touch, so I would continue that. You just have to make a distinct break from the bowl to the rim.

I will have to withdraw from the trade. I am not even close to finished with the pipe, and I will be out of town for the next week. When I get back I will have to make 24 pipes to pay the bills for August. I apologize for giving late notice.

Re: My First Commission, Pipe #10

So you guys have the first twenty pipes you made just sitting on a shelf? yes. the first 60-70 actually. I didn't sell any pipes until i had been making pipes for 3 years. I put a lot of time and money into it at the beginning, knowing that there wouldn't a way to get it back. I considered it payin...
