Re: Replacement stem making A to Z (instructional video set
I was supposed to do some pipe work this morning, but ended up watching this.
But it was worth it.
I really enjoyed it, George. Thank you.

Well, I started with a disc.
But, in my case, it didn't help.

Re: 2nd billiard attempt
Do YOU remember YOUR first couple of pipes?
It's very difficult to blast those!
Keep it, smoke it as a smooth and in 10 years time look back at it and say: "Wow, why didn't I blast this?".

Re: Doug535 7th pipe (billiard)
Some guys use CA glue or shellac to stabilise the mortise, just to clarify.
.173 is about 4.4mm if google is right (Sorry, here we work in mm). I normally go for about 2.4 to 2.5mm.

Re: Doug535 7th pipe (billiard)
Thanks!
Doc's got the most important points spot on.
Most guys stain the mortise as well. In my eyes, it just looks unprofessional and unfinished if not.
What is your measurement on your button, back to front? It looks a bit too deep for me.
All in all, you're getting there. Enjoy it!

Re: Compressor maintenance
Drained it yesterday. The guy who sold it to me must have been a really clean guy, not even a drop came out.
But then it was spotless, I must say.
An automatic drain sounds like a good thing to me!

Compressor maintenance
I saw the other day that according to the manual, I need to drain my compressor daily.
Is that really necessary?
What do you actually need to do routinely, to keep it in good shape?

Agree.
But funny that there are still pipesmokers who think that keyholes are mess-ups.
