Buffing speeds
right now I have two buffing motors that run at two speeds 1450 or 3600 I think I am using 6" buffing wheels at 1450 some day I want to switch to the beal system, would there be a need to change the buffing speed? and if so what speed should I be shooting for?

Yeah it would be tough to use a bamboo skewer in the draft hole while she is spinning around on a lathe, plus I don't keep my compressor running and handy, I was mainly referring to drilling with a press, I always pre-check and mark my bit but I like the skewer as a back up, I stuff it in the draft ...

some of you guys have probably have done this but I put a bamboo skewer in the draft hole and when I drill the tobacco chamber I can tell when I hit the bamboo shewer

good Idea Alpha, I figured out why I was splitting the stem while boring it out with the tapered bit, the fluting on the bit doesnt run the entire bit so when the bit was in far enough it wasn't evacuating the shavings and was backing them up inside the airway, I thought I was pulling the bit out en...

I have yet to sand through into the airway but today as I was trying to bore out my premade vulcanite stem with a 11/64 tapered bit I drilled one through the side near the bit end and cracked one in the middle of them stem, am I boring to fast? or just not getting my bit centered in the chuck proper...
