I used buckey and they did a great job. It was a 2-3 week wait though.

I like it! Very sleek and classy. How far into the shank does the SS go?

Re: leaving bark on briar.
Use a hand held wire brush with stiff bristles. Give her hell and then clean off anything you leave behind with a pick, or if you have a thin metal flex rule, you can use the corner of it to get under the bark and pick it off. Then stain it black, hit it with a thin coat of shellac if that's you're ...

Re: Where do you even go about getting briar like this ?
Don't listen to them Ian. These two gentlemen, while excellent pipe carvers, are completely mistaken concerning where briar of that nature originates. Most of the tomes I've consulted tell me that a most complicated summoning ritual is involved, for you see, briar that nice cannot be grown, it must...

I couldn't have said it better myself, George. There are few people in the world so honest, genuine, and helpful as Mr. Beard. Tyler is like the Godfather of American pipe carvers! +1 and beyond! Thank You Tyler Beard for you passion, inspiration, selflessness, and time put into this hob...

Re: Music and Pipemaking
The list really is too long. I actually listen to everything from classical to death metal. I choose wisely though. Only the best of the best. I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd, Zepplin, Sabbath, Clutch, Tool, some Brit rock like Graveyard, witchcraft, and every now and then I'll even listen to 80s ea...

Re: 2014 Pipe In The Hat Trade.
I would like to comment on the pipe I received from Premal Chheda. It is a magnificent pipe. The drilling is spot on, the finish is nothing short of amazing. The tenon is very snug but is not of concern because it's a larger delrin tenon and is very durable. The mortise, end of the shank, as well as...

Re: 2014 Pipe In The Hat Trade.
I will get mine sent out by the end of the week. I apologize for sending later than I originally said. I had a very ugly family emergency and haven't even been to work in over a week.

Re: Advice on my stamp design
When I can afford to, I am changing my stamp as well. I started off just engraving B&B and the number of the pipe. I did that for the first ten pipes. I didn't want mine to get confused with other brands such as Briar Bird, BnB tobacconist, BBB , and a few others. Now I have a fancy lettered and...

Re: Prince
Thanks Sas, I appreciate your thought on this. It is a hard shape to nail. Am I correct in thinking that I should shape a ball first then flatten the backside line from about from about 3/4 up?
