It was photoshop at it's finest. That was the first thing I saw when I turned the news on Tuesday morning. "Welcome home from Chicago...."

That was a BIG deal on the news earlier this week. Apparently the people in charge don't know how to take a joke because I thought it was hilarious!

Re: Scottie Piersel’s interview, P&T magazine
Eye training is probably the single largest barrier to making high grade pipes. Not true. Your eyes will trick you...tell you a line is straight when it's not...show you a bend is perfect when there is a huge kink halfway through. Your HANDS, however, will not. It is your hands that you must train ...

Re: How to respond to qestions from the general public...
There's about three things I won't share. And I mean I won't share them with anyone. It took me months to figure them out and I'm not giving that shit up easy. None of them have to do with how I finish my pipes. But none of it is rocket science and could be figured out if anyone had the time and in...

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
I have a Grizzly heat gun I picked up on Amazon for like $30. A little over medium on the heat. Keep the stem moving and concentrate more on the thick part right where you want the bend to start. The button area will heat up super quick so don't spend much time heating that. It usually takes me abou...

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
Make the middle one, with a little more bend on the stem, and see where it goes. You'll get to a point of madness if you just keep drawing them. And HOLY SHIT!!! 9lbs 12oz?!?!?!?! I thought our son was big at 9lbs 3oz. Good Job Lady! If you have another you better start to the hospital as soon as yo...

Re: Another author attempt
Thanks guy's, I think I'm getting my transitions down better. My stem fit seems to be going ok too. I gave up on using a forstner bit and have started using my parting tool to face the mortise. Jeremiah, Thanks, I now see that Scottie is using a much smaller chamber in hers. My chambers are usually...

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
Your shank needs to be around 7/8" at the stem for it to look right. As is, it looks a bit bowl heavy and the shank is too skinny. Your bowl dimensions are correct and the bowl shape looks good. Erase the mortise and top line of the shank. Remeasure to make the shank 7/8" at the stem and t...

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
Also, you know that "spin the stem" trick while you are sanding to keep things round. I can't do that with my Authors. There is always more taken off the bottom line of the shank than the top. It's necessary to achieve that reverse S curve that you are looking for in an Author. Here's a se...
