Re: Algerian briar pricelist & size chart ALL GRADES IN STOCK
Hi all... I know that I once said I would never again deal with Yazid...was purty adamant at the time...but times, and circumstances, change. After a few PMs and a long phone conversation with Steve, I placed a small order for some of his grade 2 block. In a word, beautiful. It only arrived yesterda...

Re: Newark (NY) Pipe Show in NJ 3/19/2013
Hi Steve. Good to hear that you made it. Too far for me...hell, even Chi is a long walk, but it's looking like a show that will grow. Suppliers is something that we (*I*) would love to see at the St. Louis show....maybe next year? Would be great to hand select a few blocks and look over some of your...

Re: Need the mathematical formula....
"Golden RATIO" That's what I was looking for....thank you! Argument settled....for now. LOL I've been down this road before and the discussion rages on. This formula is not the end-all in design. but it is a place to start. If we vary much from these constraints, objects start to look spin...

Hi Skip...
I'll be contacting you after the first of the month...but have a quick question. Are these raw blocks or partially turned?

Need the mathematical formula....
....for a well balanced pipe. There is a mathematical formula...something-or-other triangle...has to do with the optimum ratio between the height of the bowl to the length of the shank to the overall length of the pipe. If you hold these ratios, the pipe is balanced visually...stray away enough and ...

This is in line with a question I've had for a while now. I started a pipe a bit ago and mis-drilled the shank, which was short to begin with. I've removed the shank entire at this point. Would it be functionally sound to drill into the bowl til I was flush with the inner wall and epoxy a cylinder i...

Pushing 65 (in March) and looking fwd. to doing more fishing and floating than a work-a-day life allows. I just found this place...again...while on SF. I've started tinkering with pipe-making as ...
