Cumberland needed

Hey guys,

I've been looking for cumberland rod but Pipe Makers Emporium is out, any of you guys have some that they are willing to sell? I'm only looking for about 6-9" or so, I'm hoping to just try some out.

Please PM me if interested.

Another theme idea could be "Alfred Hitchcock." I'm really liking the idea but I'm just not being very creative with these theme words.

I will even come out of lurking for this, I'd love to be in, I had a great time last round. I still smoke Nick's pipe as my go to virginia incinerator.

As for thematic words how about "justice"

Ooh goody, I'm very exited about the possibilities for the whole pith deal.

What tools do you guys use to round out the cut piece (assuming it's squared). Do you use a roughing gauge or just a chisle/scraper of some kind?

I'm looking at buying a lathe as well. Is there anything bad about the delta? Is the Jet worth the extra money? Just wondering.

Being a former resident of Santa Clarita, Frank, it is this time of year that I have no regrets with not living there anymore. Although this lame 90 degree 90% humidity that Nick spoke of here in Ohio sucks too...That's it. I'm moving to France!

I've had trouble finding foam backing to use on my sanding set-up (as Kurt does) where is a good place to order these and sanding disks as well?

Sorry Nick, already taken (sorry I still haven't ever made it down to Columbus by the way).

Just thought I would post what I thought was kind of funny.

If only it is a scam or joke I feel appreciated

I recently got this e-mail from somebody and I don't even know what it really means. Anybody else received an email like this? :? "hi, i am the man. and as such i must recognize your ability in this art. i am wildly impressed with your ability to pour your heart and soul into each pipe. i am wi...

Unfortunately life has called me from the dry, dead landscape of my youth (Santa Clarita) but I'm hoping to put my friend and dad up to going in my stead. Thanks for the heads-up.

I enjoy the pipe. The red line is nice, I personally wouldn't put it in the middle of the stem but that also helps it to stand out as more unique. The detail work on the bottom is pretty sweet, must have been a bear to work out, I would bet.

Nice work,

nice work Nick. I was recently working on a horn but it gave me a lot of trouble and now looks nothing at all like a horn. I really like the 2 pipes. My only inexperienced critiques are that the horn is a little too canted for my taste (which is just a preference issue) and I feel a slight akwardnes...

I have been thinking of the same thing a lot lately. Though I'm not even selling firsts yet, much less seconds. I think the best solution is to pack those in a box, send them to my house, then you don't have to worry about them anymore  I really appreciate all the advice from the others though...

I really plan on going. Seeing how little pipe work I've been able to put together it looks like I won't even have anything for the Friday Pre-show, but I plan on coming anyway.

Great job! I love the cumberland stem, I haven't tried it yet but I'm saving my pennies to get some rod, I love the stuff. I agree with Nick, I think the bottom is a little heavy. I think that if you were to have drilled the mortise just a touch lower and then sanded down the top it would be a littl...
