Any ideas?
Hello guys, after only 1111111 attempts on making a straight grain billiard with grain orientation to the top, I'm close on achieving it.
Although natural finish is not a problem a possible DR-like finish will be great.
So any ideas on suggested under and over stain?

I'm considering taking an order for a group order, and I would like to find what's out there.
Thank you,
Michail

I didn't see any prices or way to order on their website, how can we buy them? Is there any online retailer maybe?sandahlpipe wrote:I use the replacement sheets from Cyclone and they work well. I do clean the dust off when I put a new sheet on. I replace mine every 3-4 months on average.

Re: Sandblast cabinet glass protection.
My sheets last about 90minutes of blast each, I don't know if it is cause of the small cabin height and the table cloth that I used need change in 20minute.
I think that I'm going to try the Mylar sheets and see if it work.

Re: Sandblast cabinet glass protection.
An update to the topic. I run out of the sheets that came with my blaster and I checked cyclone's site where they suggest Mylar sheets: http://www.cycloneblasters.com/partsandaccessories.html Have anyone tried those before? I found them here for 25$ for 50 sheets on the dimensions that I like. http:...

Re: Fake blast and it's limits....
Well I didn't say that is not aesthetically pleasing, all I'm saying that either you can make a faux plateaux, a deep sandblast or whatever else to imitate something else just state it. It does matter how it is achieved.... Even if we consinder a fine and small blasting tip a rustication tool, it st...

Fake blast and it's limits....
I found out that some co-makers do great job with faux blasting. I really admire their skill and patience, and the result is more than great, it takes rustication to another level. The last few weeks though, I saw a guy that uses a sandbaster to track briar's ring grain, then deep rusticates and sel...

Re: spoon-bits.com
I bought my first spoon bits from Dimitris on late November on two different tapered shaped designs. I was really happy and used them on over 20 pipes each untill late January -note that today, they still cut as if they are new- when I ordered him two new spoons with large diameter. I prefer to use ...

Way to much rust on the bed. This can only be fixed with precision honing by specialist so it will cost a lot.
And I can't be sure if the tailstock will be aligned if a lot of material will be removed.

What Red stain from fiebings catalogue to choose?
Hello co-makers, the subject's title is what I want to know. I bought the fiebings dye set from PME sometime ago, and I've only used red on understain of rusticated or sandblasted pipes. I use it yesterday on a smooth after a black understain and I had a red-pink-violet contrast finish which ruined ...
