Great shape, great grain and great reverence!
Nice work, I'm jealous!

Re: Prince Albert "Alaskan Song"
Hi Felix,
nice pipe and nice grain as well. I like that shape. Maybe the stem is a little long, but that's just a detail.
And I agree to Nate, usually don't like that stem look as well, but in this case it's not so bad.

Re: Crooked Cutty
Really impressive. I like it a lot. It's a pleasure for my eyes to watching the curves and lines. Especially the bowl is very inspiring. And since I still call myselve a very beginner, I can't see any difference between yours and the recommendation sas has given. And I wonder wich program sas uses. ...

Hi Daniel,
I am afraid I can't help you very much since I am a beginner by myselve. But I wish you good luck with your start.
And my wallet is very slim too, so I understand your situation. Unfortunately pipemaking includes some throwbacks.
Good luck again!

Re: another billiard...
I think the reverse taper is a good idea on that context, but as Tyler and Rad have said, it doesn't work out so much this time. But in my humble opinion, a good design is the result of many variations of one idea.
I hope you are feeling better soon, too!!

Re: dos nuevos
The first one is nice, but I really do like the second. Maybe because I generally like rusticated pipes, but this shape with that partial rustication really to my taste. Congratulations, to both of the pipes.

The shape is not so much my cup of tea, but I like the finish. And it looks like you have manufactured the pipe very elaborate,
so my deep respect for that piece of art!

I like that one.
I like the drive it has. Maybe the bowl coud go even further, if you know what I mean. (Sometimes I wish I knew more words in english)
But as it is, very good.

Re: Some of my pipes
Thank you for your comment.
You are right,
first drilling, then steaming and bending. I have used beech. Because of it's short fibres, it is good for bending.
If you like to know more, send me a message, or just ask on this thread.

Re: Pipe No. 5 - Horn
Hi Todd,
nice pipe. And your sollution of the stem accident is a good idea.
Have you drilled it freehand?
The spot on the rim is a pity thing, but except that, it's really good.

Some of my pipes
Hi guys, here are some of the pipes I have made recently. A churchwarden I have made for a friend, who is a member of a medieval acting group. Those groups are quite common here. http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/8081/mallard00117klein.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img402.imageshack.us/img...

Re: My start to 2011
I like the idea too and agree with the others, the stem could be a little thinner. And, if you are going to try different versions of this design, I think it would look good, if the part which "holds" the bowl is a little thinner but goes further to the front. I hope you understand my engl...

Hello Flix,
thank's for your welcome. I hope to become a real member of the gang. Some pipes can be seen on the link below my first post, but later I will post some pictures in the gallery here.

Hello from Germany
Hello, my name is Dirk. I am 32 years old and I am on my way to run my own business as a furniture/product designer. I hope that pipemaking will be a part of that. I started making pipes around 4 years ago, but had really very little time for it. In my youth I have learned joinery, what helps a litt...
