Vermont: Where can you buy the two Penman blends?

Re: Aromatics
Wayne: Reiner's Professional sounds great but is a little too rich for my budget. I will, however, try one of the Dan's.

Aromatics
As it turns out, I've never really explored the world of aromatics. I jumped straight into english blends and never looked back. However, I've always loved the way aromatics smell, so I've decided that the time has come. In other words, I'm looking for recommendations. Any suggestions to get me roll...

Using Fiebings on other Wood- Question
Hey guys, I have been making frames for paintings and just tried Fiebing's as my stain. Working with pine, by the way. I've applied one coat, let it sit for about eight hours and it looks great. So here's my question. Is one coat enough? Or is there a reason, of which I am ignorant, that I should us...

Yes... I need a lathe for stem work- just to make my life easier. It looks like Taig is the way to go.

Re: Unimat Lathe
I'm trying to find out about Unimat lathes in general. With that, I'm also trying to figure out if there are any lathes less expensive than, say a Taig, for stem work. It appears to me that to get into a Taig- by the time you get everything you need, you're looking at around six-hundred dollars. I n...

Unimat Lathe
Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a small lathe to use for stem-work. Has anyone out there used a Unimat? Any comparisons to the Taig?
Cheers,
TC

Hey guys, It seems that the tool gremlins have visited my workshop again. I am in the process of changing the drivebelt for my Delta LA 200 lathe... and here is the problem. Took everything apart- no problems- changed the belt. The belt is so tight that I decide to take everything apart again and ta...

I've always known that Florence Henderson was a freak. I've even had chance to see interviews in which she alluded to the 60's freakscene that she was into.

TiN Coating on Drill Bits
Hey Guys,
Ever on the quest to try new drill bits, I realized that I've never used TiN coated bits before and was wondering if anyone out there has. If so do you recommend them... and why/why not.
Cheers,
TC

I guess that takes me back to my original question- which I'll clarify- What are the various ways is in which people freehand drill/ what are the various setups that they use to accomplish this?

Re: Freehand Drilling
I didn't realize that most pipemakers freehand-drilled on a lathe. I'm not sure how I thought they did it, but I was imagining all sorts of crazy ways... some of which, I may be crazy enough to try.
By the way, Scott, thanks for the link. That is very interesting.
