your idea?
I thought of it, but a quick search showed I wasn't the first.

If you try it, I recommend a heat gun and pliers to separate the plastic shell case from the metal head, instead of all the other ways I tried that take forever and barely work.

Another theme idea: Shaping done without power tools. This would level the playing field for beginners without access to gear, and it would show if gear really matters in making a good pipe (other than speed, of course).

Done.

It was interesting trying to design something that both sits and has a long straight shank. I tried to go for a rocking chair-like platform under the bowl and shank.
