Re: Olivewood Bulldog

Just plain sexy! Like every thing about it. Personal taste; I would have added a white accent to the shank - sort of a tuxedo look.

Re: Asymmetrical Thingy

I completely understand Wayne's critiques, but I too like that it is outside the box, and no not mind so much the 'fatness' of the shank. Perhapos it is th beginning of a new style. You'll have to name it...
Thumbs up from me.

I LOVE what you did to the plateau on that bowl! What a unique look, and it really sets it off from the rest of the textures. Great job.

Re: J Gilliam - JSEC -

As the proud owner of a JSEC pipe, I'm still amazed at the quality of the work that come sout of your shop. I love the odd asymmetric finishes, blasts and rustications. It's almost a Picaso type topping an a Rembrandt. Love these selections as well.

Re: Danish Influence?

Ha1 I have enjoyed reading these replies thus far - all of them! It's marketing. Of this i have little doubt that is applies to more situations than not. I have used that term in the past - "Danish influence", or "Danish inspired". Honestly, I have no clue what that means, and us...

Danish Influence?

Hey gentlemen - I have what I think is a great question. In researching an upcoming highlight for my blog, I ran into yet another pipecrafter saying that he felt his pipes had a "Danish influence". While we all know the names and the work of many of the Danish experts in pipecrafting, I wa...

Re: 24-12 'Naja'

I love it, and I like that it is different in some technical areas. I really enjoy reading people's critiques of pipes, not because I like differing opinions necessarily, but that this field is so subjective. It is mechanical art, sculpture. Some people are Michelangelo or Rembrandt, some people are...

Wow! Not much there that one would not like! Absolutely love them both! The staining choice, 'ghost face' is amazing! Just the right clarity and opacity - and of course that dark color of the stain really brings out the grain. Two things i feel I must comment on: 1. I love that short little bit on t...

Re: How much time do you spend on the stem?

Look up old posts and blogs by Trever Talbert. At one point he had all the time, materials, and sundries required to bring a pipe to market figured to a gnat's chuff and -- rare combination -- was willing to write about it. Better yet, interview him. He's been making a living with his mitts for yea...
