Re: pipe in the hat trade?

I'm sorry to say that I'm out. Haven't had the time or the chance to make a pipe in ages! :(

I'm really sorry about that. Specially since there are some real beauties in the hat this year.

Re: Ready for Spoon Bits?

I'm slowly loosing my patient. How much more would it cost making 23 sets for the persons that have already payed? Would that even be an option?

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. And I agree, it really looks like a cobra. A horny cobra, maybe...?

Really beautiful work, Abi. Love the flowing lines. Don't know if I would call it a Cobra, though. Looks more like a Horn to me.

Re: Barbi drilling

I have no comments since I haven't tried it with a spade bit yet. Although this video make me curious... :D
Still, I think I'll wait for my spoon bits.

Re: Barbi drilling

Most people would not encourage you to freehand drill the tobacco chamber with a spade bit...

But it's quite stunning to see Barbi drill.

Barbi drilling

A lot of you guys might have seen this one already. As far as I understands it, this would not be the way to drill freehand... So don't try this at home. :-)

I like it a lot. And you made a good job not to disturb the transition between the rusticated stem and the silver ring.

Re: Hedegaard grading

Thanks Rad. That really helps. Now I can finally sleep at night... :takethat:

No Mike, it's clearly a T. It's from a bunch of pipes left in his workshop that they found after he died. Maybe he had some new grading system planned.

Good eyes, Brian. There's not more meat there but something is wrong. I thing that the problem is that the shank is slightly of center.

Hedegaard grading

I have a nice Hedegaard bent brandy. I'm a bit confused about the grading on the pipe though. Everywhere I've seen Hedegaards grading system it says "FP 1-3" (and a lot more gradings). Mine is graded FT3. Anyone know anything about that?

All the best,

Pär
