Cracked Shank Repair

Ive got a nice pipe that I'm restoring. After cleaning it, i noticed a small crack in the mortise. It doesnt go all the way through, but I'd like to reinforce it. I'm thinking a band out the outside. What is a good tube stock to use. Maybe some for pen making? Ive nver done this before. Sent from my...

Pipe ID "Kidur"

Ive got a pipe stamped Kidur. I cant find much about it other than it may from St Claude. Its got to be a second from one of the big french companies. It needs some work cleaning it up, but its a good looking piece.

Re: Buyers Remorse?

Ok then, no guts no glory. Suggestions for holding the plug in place? Its tricky, since it involves the bowl inside and out, i dont want to use anything that will be toxic when heated.

Buyers Remorse?

I got a very nice Stanwell. However I think I may have an issue I'm not quite experienced enough to address. The bowl has some burnout in one spot. I thought maybe some mud to fix it, but its on the side and maybe deeper than mud could fix. The question is do i just go for it an bore out the burn an...

So Ive started by getting cheap pipes on auction to refurbish to get a feel for how they are made. May not be the best smokers but I want to get some k...
