Re: Carnuba Wax Powder

I do what latakialover says but instead of buff with dry wheel, i have a horsehair shoe shine brush mounted on a mandrel and hit it with that. works great

Re: Sealing with Danish Oil

I've always wondered why nobody talks about using linspeed oil. I've done a few gun stocks with it, sanding up to 400 grit then using steel wool, rags, paper bags etc and I have gotten incredibly durable, very high gloss finishes that are repairable if scratched. I'm probably never gonna experiment ...

Re: A&M Steel Stamps

Just in case anybody's been trying to get a hold of A&m. He kind of went under the radar because he was moving earlier this year. I've been having a hell of a time getting a hold of him for the last year. He has a new number and the Google listing has not been updated. He's still in business, an...

Re: Airway off center left to right

What seamonster said. When it happens to me it's only ever on pipes that I reposition the block in the jaws and only ever on blocks I didn't make perfectly square. I also drill my airways in three steps, I use a center drill to start, then a short drill to drill it as far as I can, perhaps1/3 or hal...

Re: Bulldog/Dublin on an undersized lathe

Can I make a suggestion? You can buy an expanding internal mandrel in a size to fit the chamber. Beall makes them.
Then you can chuck it in the 3jaw you have there or a drill chuck mounted on the spindle.it holds very securely. It's what I use to cut my beadlines after blasting.

Re: Polishing up a light coloured shank with a metal band

I've been looking for a more elegant solution to this problem myself. I have been taping but its not fool proof. After 320 grit on the whole pipe and metal shank extension I was considering going up to a very high grit like lets say 1000-1500, and then taping and buffing. Aluminum cuts so fast, even...

https://youtu.be/J-LC1n1S7Ik Check out 12:34- 12:45 It seems you can't find anything like this anywhere but it's frustrating cause you know it's out there All the ones I have seen pipe guys use have been modified, foot operated grommet installers. https://www.buckleguy.com/bg-setter-hand-foot-press...

Re: Dream Buffer Setup

I have a couple benchtop buffers and they work great with 8" wheels. I also have the beal system on a 1hp motor. If i had my druthers id do a few standalone 3phase motors all with vfds and the beal adapters.
