I've got a used 1/2 hp 1725 rpm motor with a 5/8" shaft. I want to get a Jacobs chuck for it, but am having a hard time finding one locally that fits the shaft. What do I need to search for online?

I went to the web site and can't find a metal lathe anywhere. Under what listing on the web page did you look. I'l like to see the lathe.

I found several motors in the 1725 rpm range. Is this adequate for both shaping the stummel and also for buffing?

Thank you. I have looked at the Jet lathe. By the time you buy a wood lathe and a metal lathe, the Jet lathe makes sense.
